Anxiety
Anxiety can feel like your mind just won't stop. Constant thoughts, a racing heart, and that lingering sense that you always have to be "on." You hold it together for everyone else, but underneath, it's exhausting to keep pushing through.
In my practice, we look at anxiety through a nervous system lens. From blood sugar instability and nutrient depletion to chronic stress load and protective thought patterns, we identify what's keeping your system in survival mode.
The goal isn't just to quiet your mind, it's to help your body feel safe again so calm becomes your baseline, not something you have to force.
While therapy and medication can be helpful, many people sense there's something deeper happening beneath the surface. Anxiety isn't just in your thoughts. It's often a sign that your nervous system has been stuck in high alert for too long.
Understanding Anxiety
-
Nearly 1 in 4 adults will experience significant anxiety at some point in their life.
Women are almost twice as likely to experience anxiety, partly due to hormonal influences on brain chemistry.
-
You may be experiencing:
A restless mind that won’t shut off, even when you’re exhausted.
Constant tension in your shoulders, neck, or jaw.
A racing heart or tightness in your chest for no clear reason.
Light or broken sleep that never feels truly restorative.
Fatigue or brain fog, even after a full night’s rest.
Digestive changes like bloating, nausea, or IBS.
Feeling easily overstimulated by caffeine, noise, or pressure.
-
Every case of anxiety is unique, but there are often deeper physiological and mindset-based drivers beneath the surface.
These are some of the most common root causes I look for in my practice..
Blood sugar dysregulation (energy crashes that mimic anxiety and fuel irritability).
Chronic stress and nervous system overload (your body stuck in fight-or-flight mode).
Low levels of calming neurotransmitters like GABA, serotonin, or magnesium.
Poor gut health (70% of serotonin is made in the gut).
Hormonal imbalances, especially around the menstrual cycle.
Chronic inflammation or nutrient deficiencies that impair brain chemistry.
Overthinking patterns and negative self-talk loops that keep the brain wired for worry.
When we identify and address these root causes, anxiety becomes something you can work with, not just manage.
Anxiety isn't just mental, it's a full-body experience. When your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, your brain's alarm center (the amygdala) becomes overactive, keeping you in a constant state of alert.
This can be fuelled by hidden physiological imbalances like blood sugar swings, nutrient deficiencies, hormonal changes, chronic inflammation, or gut issues that affect neurotransmitter production. When your body is off-balance, your brain interprets it as danger, and that's when worry, irritability, and racing thoughts take over.
Once we support your body's chemistry, your mind can finally exhale. Rebalancing the body helps calm the brain, making it easier to think clearly, feel grounded, and respond, instead of react.
How I Treat Anxiety
Through my Nervous System Academy, we don't just quiet symptoms. We identify why your anxiety is happening in the first place. Together, we assess the biochemical, hormonal, and nervous system patterns keeping your brain in survival mode and work to restore regulation from the inside out.
This approach blends naturopathic medicine with evidence based nervous system and mindset strategies. Rather than chasing short term relief, we rebuild your foundation by stabilizing stress hormones, assist neurotransmitter balance, optimizing nutrition, and retraining your brain to feel safe again.
Phase 1:
Understanding & Assessment
Before real change can happen, we need to understand why your mind and body are reacting the way they are. This first phase is about gaining clarity.
-
We take a comprehensive look at your health and lifestyle, from your stress patterns, sleep, and nutrition to your hormones, gut health, and blood sugar balance. Through in-depth conversations and targeted lab testing, we uncover how your body and brain have been working together (or against each other) and identify the root causes behind your symptoms.
By the end of this phase, you'll have a personalized roadmap that shows what your body needs to feel calm, grounded, and in control again.
-
A clear understanding of what's driving your anxiety and fatigue.
A full breakdown of your lab results and how they connect to your symptoms.
A foundational plan to start restoring balance in your nervous system and physiology.
Confidence knowing there's a step-by-step strategy to help you feel like yourself again.

Phase 2:
Rebalancing & Integration
This is where the real work begins. In this phase, we start correcting the imbalances that have been keeping you stuck, and teach your system how to function from a place of calm, not chaos.
-
We work through your personalized plan to restore balance at the root level, stabilizing blood sugar and energy, rebalancing hormones, calming inflammation, and supporting your gut-brain connection. This helps your nervous system finally exhale so you can think clearly, sleep better, and feel grounded again.
At the same time, we layer in mindset and nervous system tools designed to retrain your brain for calm and safety. From breath work and nervous system "downshifts" to reframing thought loops that fuel anxiety, you'll learn simple techniques to anchor yourself, even on stressful days.
-
A clear, structured plan for nutrition, supplements, and daily nervous system tools.
Practical strategies that help you stay centered and calm, no matter what's happening around you.
Noticeable improvements like deeper sleep, steadier focus, balanced mood, and more consistent energy.
-
4-6 Weeks
Phase 3:
Long-Term Resilience
By this stage, your body and brain are finally in sync. The deeper imbalances have been addressed, and now the focus shifts to making these changes stick for life.
-
Together, we strengthen your nervous system's resilience and lock in the mindset shifts that keep you steady under pressure. You'll learn how to maintain balance even when life gets chaotic, with tools and routines that make calm your natural state, not something you have to chase.
We'll build habits that protect your mental health, support your focus and energy, and help you expand into your next level of potential, without falling back into old stress patterns.
-
A strong, regulated nervous system that bounces back quickly from stress.
Sustainable daily habits that support both your brain and your goals.
A clear long-term plan to maintain your progress and continue evolving.
